Bush so that he can convey that his name is Khan and he is not a terrorist, recalls his life, initially with his Bombay-based dad, Dilawar Amanaullah Khan; mom, Razia; and brother, Zakir. Dilawar works for the State Transport workshop in Borivali, and Rizwan accompanies him, learns the trade, and can repair virtually anything. After his passing, Rizwan is abused by his classmates, as well as by Zakir, who feels neglected, so she hires Wadia to teach Rizwan. Years later, Zakir decides to re-locate to U.S.A., and once there, gets married to Hasina. He sponsors Razia and Rizwan, but Razia passes away. In San Francisco, where Zakri runs 'Mehnaz Herbal Beauty Products', Rizwan is hired as a door-to-door salesman, while Hasina concludes that he has Asperger's Syndrome. While selling products, he meets with and is attracted to a Hindu Salon worker, Mandira Rathod, a single mother of Sameer, whose husband abandoned her and re-located to Australia. Both Rizwan and Mandira decide to get married much to Zakir's chagrin, who asks Rizwan to leave. The trio re-locate to Banville, open their own salon, encounter racial profiling after the 9-11 terrorist attacks, are blacklisted, shunned and suffer losses, and then Sameer gets killed. Mandira blames Rizwan for her plight and asks him to leave, while she decides to pursue Sameer's death with Detective Miguel Garcia. Rizwan sets on his journey to meet Mr. Bush - little knowing that soon he will be detained as a terrorist suspect himself and held at an unknown location.

Kabir will also inform them that an International Vigilance team will be arriving to carry out an investigation against them. While the four attempt to deal with these accusations and revelations - nothing will prepare them for the events that will occur in the next few hours.

He finds out about a treasure-laden train and in the company of his entourage, travels to a village named Dhulia, where he decides to con the residents into believing that robbing the train is part of the filming. He also inducts a prominent Oscar-craving Bollywood actor, Aatish Kapoor, to be the lead character in this movie. But his venture will run into problems with the entry of his mother,followed closely by Agents Chatterjee and Mukherjee, Commissioner Khadak Singh, and a headless horseman.

Feeling threatened, he hires Lovely as a bodyguard for his collegian daughter, Divya, and her friend, Maya. Divya does not appreciate being followed around by Lovely and creates a fictional woman, Chhaya, who distracts him by repeatedly phoning him and telling him that she loves him. Lovely believes this person to be real and falls in love. In a bar, Ranjan's brother attacks Divya and is killed by Lovely - setting into motion a chain of events that will pit Lovely not only against the enraged Mhatre brothers - but also against Sartaj himself - who believes that Lovely is attempting to elope with his daughter.

This sadistic practice has become a ritual wherein students are beaten up, stripped, paraded naked, starved, tortured, molested and even raped by their seniors. Since victims of ragging find it humiliating to report sexual abuse to their parents or others, most ragging-related crimes go unreported. Sadly, these very students - who suffer silently at the hands of their seniors - in turn vent their frustrations by ragging their juniors in the following years. Thus, this cruel practice continues year after year and has claimed (and is still claiming) the lives and careers of innumerable students. The film 'Hostel' is a shocking eye-opener about this evil practice and is a wake-up call for all of us.
